Dividing the word
When you cut something straight, you are dividing the whole.
In the case of scripture, it is dividing truth FROM truth, not dividing truth from error….
The first case of division is when God divided the day, light from darkness, but yet both of those constitutes the whole, but yet both of them have different characteristics….
The gospel that John the Baptist, Jesus and His 12 apostles preached, is for the redeeming of the earth, “that which was Spoken Since the world began” Acts 3:21, which is called “prophecy”.
The gospel that the Resurrected Ascended Lord Jesus Christ gave to Paul is for the redeeming of heaven, “that which was kept Secret Since the world began”
Ro.16:25; Eph.3:9., which is called “mystery”.
He will reign over the earth through the nation Israel, He will reign in heaven though the body of Christ.
This is just part of rightly dividing the word of truth…
Here’s what Miles Coverdale had to say:
“It shall greatly help ye to understand Scripture if thou mark not only what is spoken or wrythen, but of whom and to whom, with what words, at what time, where, to what intent, with what circumstances, considering what goeth before and what followeth after.” ~ Miles Coverdale (1488-1569)
