Evil isn’t what most of us thinks that it is:
Heb. “ra” is translated to evil in English, also it is translated to “sorrow,” “wretchedness,” “adversity,” “afflictions,” “calamities,” but never translated to the word sin.
God created evil: Isaiah 45:7 “ I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.“ only in the sense that He made sorrow, wretchedness, etc., to be the sure fruits of sin.
Is.31:1 “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD! 2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.”
Evil is not sin, per se, but rather the effect of sin…
It is the opposite of the fruit of the Spirit.
