Exodus 20:12
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
Ephesians 6:1-4
1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right.
2 Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise;
3 That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

Today I celebrate the birth of someone who, along with my mom, colored my earliest memories with the beauty of hymns sung as a duet in the car on the way home late at night. A man who taught me to love classic cars, Harley Davidson motorcycles, the “Oldies”, Westerns, dogs & stupid jokes; whose wink let me know everything was okay & whose comforting arms chased all my fears away. A man who was a grizzly bear when I was growing up but who is a teddy bear today.
Happy Birthday, Dad. I love you!
Good morning and Welcome.
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
