21 When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.” 22 So he sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, but he himself stayed in Asia for a time.
23 And about that time there arose a great commotion about the Way. 24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, who made silver shrines of [e]Diana, brought no small profit to the craftsmen. 25 He called them together with the workers of similar occupation, and said: “Men, you know that we have our prosperity by this trade. 26 Moreover you see and hear that not only at Ephesus, but throughout almost all Asia, this Paul has persuaded and turned away many people, saying that they are not gods which are made with hands. 27 So not only is this trade of ours in danger of falling into disrepute, but also the temple of the great goddess Diana may be despised and [f]her magnificence destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worship.”
28 Now when they heard this, they were full of wrath and cried out, saying, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!” 29 So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions. 30 And when Paul wanted to go in to the people, the disciples would not allow him. 31 Then some of the [g]officials of Asia, who were his friends, sent to him pleading that he would not venture into the theater. 32 Some therefore cried one thing and some another, for the assembly was confused, and most of them did not know why they had come together. 33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander motioned with his hand, and wanted to make his defense to the people. 34 But when they found out that he was a Jew, all with one voice cried out for about two hours, “Great is Diana of the Ephesians!”
35 And when the city clerk had quieted the crowd, he said: “Men of Ephesus, what man is there who does not know that the city of the Ephesians is temple guardian of the great goddess [h]Diana, and of the image which fell down from [i]Zeus? 36 Therefore, since these things cannot be denied, you ought to be quiet and do nothing rashly. 37 For you have brought these men here who are neither robbers of temples nor blasphemers of [j]your goddess. 38 Therefore, if Demetrius and his fellow craftsmen have a [k]case against anyone, the courts are open and there are proconsuls. Let them bring charges against one another. 39 But if you have any other inquiry to make, it shall be determined in the lawful assembly. 40 For we are in danger of being [l]called in question for today’s uproar, there being no reason which we may give to account for this disorderly gathering.” 41 And when he had said these things, he dismissed the assembly.
Good morning and welcome
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen

Good morning everyone.
Good morning. Yesterday morning, I received an amber alert about the kidnapping of a 13 year old girl. This morning, I learned it was all a lie! Someone stole a man's pickup. Thinking he could get the police to move faster to recover his truck, he claimed that his teenage niece was in it when it was stolen! Turns out his niece was safe & sound in her bed...in California! He's now facing charges for the false report. His pickup was recovered, but I didn't hear if the thief was caught.
This really angers me. To abuse such a critical tool used to save endangered children...grrrrrr
Well, he's in trouble now.
Acts 19:32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused; and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.
This is a typical picture of an enraged mob, without reason or principle, this we will probably see after Trump wins.

... Living by The Temple Standard
Friday, October 18, 2024
In Israel, there's a place called the House of Caiaphas. There, you can see ancient measures and standards of weights. In Bible times, Israel used weights and measures to determine price and value. They had to be geared to the Temple or Sanctuary standard. Whether at home, the market place, or work, they had to all be the same. Your life also needs a sanctuary standard. In the sanctuary, in the house of God, you praise the Lord, you're patient, loving, and compassionate towards the brethren, holy and pure, entering into worship. But if, when you leave the sanctuary, you're no longer as holy, pure, and loving, then you're living by a double standard. The way you are in the sanctuary is the way you need to be outside the sanctuary. If you praise God in the sanctuary, praise Him at home. If you're loving and patient with people in the sanctuary, be the same way at home and out in the world. Get every part of your life in line with the sanctuary standard and your life will be a life of His holiness worthy of God's Temple.

Scripture: Proverbs 20:23
Today's Mission - Today, live by the Temple standard. Live and act as godly, as loving, and as righteous as you would in the Lord's house - even in heaven.
Amen
I like to go to my favorite of many verses 1John 2:15-17.
15. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but from the world 17. The world is passing away and also it’s lust; but the one who does the will of God lives forever
James 4:4-17: "You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God."
So far so good. They are still asleep. They are leaving today to go visit a friend who they grew up with. I get a break and then the next wave comes tomorrow.
They are still here, but getting ready to leave and go visit a friend my son grew up with. Then going home.
My twin grandson's and Mia who is the fiance of one of the twins. They aren't spending the night but will decend on us for a visit and a meal before heading home. They are doing it all in one day. Driving here, going to the festival and driving back.
