16 Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, [c]overpowered them, and prevailed against [d]them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded. 17 This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. 18 And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds. 19 Also, many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted up the value of them, and it totaled fifty thousand pieces of silver. 20 So the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.

Good morning everyone. Company is here, everyone is still sleeping but I imagine that most will be waking soon. It is very cold, 35 degrees. I'm on the fence about lighting the wood stove. It would be great this morning but by this afternoon it would run me out of the house.
I want just one good frost and then some nice weather.
It will put the grass to sleep until spring.
I think we got it this morning in my neck of the woods.

In Acts 12, an angel is sent to release Peter from prison. The first thing the angel had to do was see Peter as a man who happened to be in prison. If he had seen Peter as a bound and hopeless case instead of a person who happened to be in prison and who could otherwise be doing great things in future ministry; there would have been no incentive to get him out. In the same way, there are people in your life who are not saved. They might be unpleasant, miserable, or even rotten. But if that's the only way you see them, you're consigning them to the darkness. If you see them as people who happened to be inside a prison of rottenness by those things, it's a different story. There's hope for a prison break. Then they become those with the potential to become children of God. By faith and the blood of Messiah, see the person separate from their prison. And by the grace and power of God, help arrange their prison break!

Dear HSLDA Members and Friends,
It was just over a year ago that the Romeike family met with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) staff in Knoxville, Tennessee. At that time, they were given another year to remain in the US and were ordered to report back to the ICE office in a year.
That year is up.
Next week, the nine members of the Romeike family will have a meeting with ICE just as they have done periodically since they were placed under an Order of Supervision in 2012. While these meetings are ordinarily routine in nature, last years meeting was anything but routine.
Last September, the family was shocked when ICE told them to come back in a month and to bring their passports to begin the process of self-deportation. After 15 years in the United States spent building a home in their community here, it seemed as if their life was about to dramatically change. Now they're facing a similar scenario.
Despite a private bill sponsored by the Romeike's US representative, despite many visits to Capitol Hill to meet with elected officials and staff members, and despite an outpouring of support by the homeschool community, the Romeike's legal status remains unchanged.
With two children born in the US, two adult children married to US citizens, and their first grandson just a year old, Uwe and Hannelore are turning to the only place of true refuge: the Most High God.
Would you join us in praying for this family as they prepare to meet with government officials next week?
As Paul wrote to Timothy,
"I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way." 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (ESV)
Pray for peace for the family. Pray for favor with the ICE officials. And pray for the elected representatives in Congress who can take action on behalf of the Romeike's.
