Mercury One, a charity founded in 2011 by Glenn Beck, has teamed up with the United Cajun Navy, a nonprofit organization, to deliver critical supplies and perform search-and-rescue operations in the areas devastated by Hurricane Helene.
In a Friday post on X, Mercury One announced, “We have 50 helicopters now doing SAR & Air Drops. We have delivered over 10 tons of supplies to those in need.”
The United Cajun Navy thanked Mercury One for helping it double its “Cajun Wing” squad from 25 helicopters to 50.
Mercury One began delivering supplies to those in North Carolina on Monday.
“It’s not about the government’s power. It is about the power of the people. Thanks for doing more when the government does less. We are with you, Hurricane Helene victims & we are doing everything we can to help you,” the charity stated.
On Thursday, Mercury One said it had already delivered 18,000 pounds of critical supplies this week. The charity continues to collect donations to deliver goods to those in need.
Blaze News’ Julio Rosas spoke with individuals on the ground in the disaster areas.
John H. Kinard III, a Tennessee pilot and veteran with Aeroluxe Aviation, told Rosas that he and his team saw the devastation in North Carolina and decided to help. He explained that the federal government has done essentially nothing.
“There is a complete and utter lack of federal government response,” he said. “I’ve seen nobody on the ground.”
“Ivanka Trump came yesterday, talked to us. Elon Musk’s guy’s been here talking to us. Glenn Beck is here now talking to us,” Kinard told Rosas. “I’ve seen no one from the federal government to help out at all. Nobody.”
“To be honest, it just pisses me off. This is our country. We should be being taken care of, priority one, instead of all the other countries,” he continued. “It enrages everybody here.”
“There’s about 100, 150 volunteers here at this site, 90% are retired military,” Kinard added.
Over a two-day period, Kinard estimated that the group of volunteers he was with dropped off roughly 100,000 pounds of food, water, and medicine.
“This area the most needs construction crews,” he told Blaze News. “They need road clearance and people to rebuild the roads. A lot of the roads are completely destroyed. When I say, ‘completely destroyed,’ they are gone.”
Kinard said he wants the rest of the country to know that “normal, everyday Americans make the difference.”
“Don’t depend on the federal government,” he remarked. “They’re not here to help you.”
For anyone who would like to donate to an organization that uses 100% of that money toward helping the people, you can do that HERE.

My sister-in-law's family lives in NC. She said they're okay but don't have power. They're getting hot meals & supplies from churches & distribution centers. There are a few grocery stores open but the lines are very long.
This storm went right over the top of my two daughter's houses in SC. This damage is 50 miles (give or take) north of them. A route that my son in law took to work about half an hour before the storm, was completely impassible after. One daughter (at last check) has the power back on. The other is still waiting. Thankfully her, her husband, and brand new baby are staying with her sister and husband.
Oh wow. I can't even imagine going through something like this storm & it's aftermath. I'm glad your daughters & their families are okay & together. I'll add them to my prayers.
Thanks.
One of the two routes from my daughters house (the one with the power on) was (might still be) completely littered with huge trees down all along the road. and the other was just clear enough to navigate. Thankfully my other daughter (with the baby) was able to find a clear route to get from one house to the other. And, in the process find one of the very few places that had small propane tanks and propane to get it filled, in order to have a grill to cook on.
DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO THE RED CROSS. We gave money one time for the earthquake victims in Haiti and the money was stolen. Never heard a follow up on who took all the money that had been donated.

I heard the death toll has and is going up. Now it's over 200, but I didn't get the exact number. Also I've always heard to be prepared and not expect the government to come to your aid in a disaster. And don't expect your home insurance to cover you in a major disaster either. When damages reach into the billions upon billions insurance companies go belly up and file bankruptcy.
Its upsetting that our government can give all the consideration to the immigrants coming into this country illegally but none for Americans suffering.
If there is one silver lining from this, it is that these people are realizing that THEY are the government, NOT he nanny state. It's sad that it takes something like this to wake people up. But, it is amazing what some people can do when the chips are down.
The biggest insult in all this, is the government saying that "once we get you processed, we will have $750 for you." Ok, and where do I go to get these electronic funds when the power is out????? And why have you given individual illegal's thousands of dollars and phones, and generally ignored the citizens of these counties???
PS
Meanwhile, the one of two FEMA trucks seen at Ashville, the one with the sat dish on top to "process people" was tucked away out of site, waiting for people to come to them because they "Don't go door to door."
Oh good grief. No words.
