Whenever I journey to Spain, I shall come to you. For I hope to see you on my journey, and to be helped on my way there by you.
Romans 15:24
“There are many good things that need to be done in our world,” says John Rinehart, “but proclaiming the Gospel is exclusive to the people of God. No one else will do it, and no one else will fund it.” We receive solicitations from organizations every day, asking for money. The requests come by mail, email, social media, television, advertisements, and telephone. Though some requests are shams, many represent genuine causes worthy of support. But only God’s people will fund the extension of the Gospel. That is exclusive to believers!
The apostle Paul told the Romans he needed their financial help as he took the Gospel to Spain. That kind of appeal is distinctively Christian.
If your mission is to take the Gospel to those who need it—your commitment to participate in funding that outreach will bless those who hear it—and you as well.
So what is God’s family business? News, primarily. Christians are those who have been born again through Jesus’ death and resurrection and then commissioned to carry the best news to as many people as possible from all nations, languages, and people groups of the earth.
